Kylie Jenner took to Instagram on Thanksgiving to poke fun at her sister Kendall Jenner's culinary abilities, referencing a viral meme from The Kardashians. In a video shared to her Instagram Story on 23 November, the 26-year-old Kylie Cosmetics founder filmed herself sneaking up behind Kendall as she chopped an onion.
“Kylie! F*** you,” the 28-year-old model screamed upon noticing her younger sister. “You’re doing a good job!” Kylie replied, laughing. Over the clip, Kylie added a hand-heart emoji next to a cucumber emoji, a nod to a previous internet frenzy.
The joke stems from a scene in The Kardashians last year, where Kendall attempted to cut a cucumber for a snack. Holding the vegetable with one hand over the other, she drew concern from her mother Kris Jenner, who suggested asking a chef for help. “I’m making it myself,” Kendall insisted. “Just gotta chop up some cucumber, it’s pretty easy.”
Kendall’s technique sparked widespread mockery online, with fans calling it “odd” and “unprofessional”. However, in a June interview with Wall Street Journal Magazine, the 818 Tequila founder defended her skills. “Let me just say I successfully cut ‘The Cucumber,’” she said. “So if anyone says I cannot cut cucumber, I physically cut the cucumber and I did it tastefully. I didn’t hurt anybody. So I can cut cucumbers.”
