Kardashian, who spent time at a lake with sister Khloe Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and her children Saint, Chicago, and Psalm, explained that her posts were not insensitive. 'I've been by my mom and grandma's side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now,' she said. 'We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we'll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life.'
She later paid an emotional tribute to MJ, describing her as 'my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin'. Kardashian recalled how her grandmother gave her first job at a store in San Diego, teaching her about work ethic and strength. 'You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us,' she wrote.
Mary Jo Campbell, who featured in hundreds of episodes of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians' and 'The Kardashians', had previously battled breast and colon cancer. Kris Jenner, her daughter, announced the death, saying, 'Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ.'
Tributes also came from Kourtney Kardashian's husband Travis Barker, who said MJ would be 'deeply missed', and family friend Nicky Hilton-Rothschild, who noted what a 'remarkable life' MJ lived. The family is focusing on celebrating her legacy.
