Kirsty Gallacher Opens Up About Fitness and Family in New Interview

Kirsty Gallacher has revealed she feels in the best shape of her life, crediting a rigorous workout routine with former rugby pro Mel Deane. The 41-year-old TV presenter, who poses on the cover of Fit and Well magazine, said her body shape has changed significantly since starting training a year ago.

The Sky Sports News host, a mother to sons Oscar, 10, and Jude, seven, emphasised the importance of being a healthy role model. 'I think it’s important for my boys to watch a woman train hard,' she said, adding that she prefers the 'strong not skinny' ethos over size zero.

Gallacher, who has gone from a size 6-8 to an 8 due to improved muscle tone, admitted she feels more confident in her forties than in her twenties. She also praised the mental benefits of exercise, saying, 'I always feel really good after training. It’s like I bounce out of the gym.'

The mother-of-two, who ended her four-year marriage to rugby star Paul Sampson in 2014, revealed she would like more children. 'If I’m lucky enough to have one more then I’d be thrilled, as I don’t feel like I have finished yet on the baby thing,' she said.

Gallacher is also launching her own fitness gear range with Proskins. Her full interview appears in the latest issue of Fit and Well.
