Kiosk Kev, the silent star of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, has broken his silence after his 'crush' Ruby Wax was voted out of the jungle. The TV personality, known for running mini Bushtucker Trials and Dingo Dollar challenges, took to Instagram to express his disappointment.
Reposting an image of Ruby crossing the rope bridge on her exit, Kev—whose real name is Mark Herlaar—wrote: 'Aw sad day for Kev.' In a separate post, he praised the 72-year-old comedian, calling her 'fun and strength wrapped in an amazing woman.'
Ruby had openly admitted her crush on Kiosk Kev during her time in the jungle, becoming giddy whenever she saw him. After one challenge, she received a wink from him, prompting her to blow a kiss and say, 'Oh Kev, later.'
Kev, who never speaks on the show, later shared a clip of the moment on Instagram, writing: 'That special moment between Kiosk Kev and Ruby Wax.' He added that Ruby was his favourite campmate this series, praising her work with mental health charities.
Ruby's husband of 37 years, Ed Bye, joked to This Morning: 'Given the opportunity, I would go and have a word with Kiosk Kev. But the fact that he doesn't actually say anything would make it all rather pointless.'
