Kim Kardashian Warned Not to Talk to Martin Brundle

Kim Kardashian was allegedly told not to speak to Martin Brundle before she snubbed the F1 icon during his gridwalk at the Monaco Grand Prix. The reality TV star stole the show in Monte Carlo as she supported seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, with whom she has been romantically linked for months. Kim, 45, appeared to take their relationship public on Instagram before arriving in the Principality.

Kim's Attendance Adds New Dimension to Race Weekend

Kim’s attendance added a completely different dimension to the race weekend, regarded as the jewel in F1’s crown. Sky Sports was eager to get a few words from her before Sunday’s race. Brundle, 67, was conducting his customary gridwalk when he approached the VIP section where Kim stood with her sister Khloe and security. He approached her for a quick chat but was shut down.

Kim turned away from Brundle after receiving advice from an entourage member on how to navigate the awkward situation. She then raised her hand to Brundle and turned away again, while one of her security guards, holding an umbrella, shook his head at the former racer.

Body Language Expert Analyzes the Interaction

Speaking to OLBG, body language expert Darren Stanton believes Kim was warned not to speak to Brundle due to his provoking nature. He analyzed: "It's a really interesting interaction. That guy comes into shot from the right of the screen. I think he's given Kim Kardashian the heads up not to say anything because Martin Brundle can be a little bit provocative. He's quite verbose, he can be in people's faces a little bit."

Stanton added: "I would suspect she was told not to speak to the media, whether it's Lewis Hamilton or somebody else. Body language-wise, she was walking towards Martin. Her body posture was pointed towards him as if she was going to speak to him, but then as soon as that guy came into shot and whispered in her ear, she turned her posture back towards the direction she was going. That would be consistent with her body language and her reaction."

He concluded: "I just think she was downplaying herself. She wasn't playing to the cameras. Some may say that's nervousness, but I personally think she was just downplaying her presence to the press and the paparazzi, keeping her head down, not engaging to make sure she doesn't hijack Lewis’ limelight because, obviously, he's the main man."

Hamilton Inspired by Kim's Presence

Kim’s appearance added an extra spark of inspiration for Hamilton as he claimed a second consecutive second-place finish, climbing to second in the World Championship standings, albeit 66 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli. Hamilton and Kim shared an embrace before the Brit went up to the podium. As he celebrated, Kim proudly filmed him receiving his record-equalling eighth podium trophy in Monaco.
