Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner Sue Ray J for Defamation Over Racketeering Claims

Kim Kardashian and her mother, Kris Jenner, have filed a defamation lawsuit against reality TV personality and singer Ray J, alleging he made false claims that they are under federal investigation and facing indictment.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, accuses Ray J of stating in a TMZ special and a subsequent livestream that the women were the subject of a racketeering case involving federal authorities. The court documents assert that no such investigation exists.

According to the filing, Ray J's comments constitute a "sustained campaign of harassment and defamation" that has persisted for years, and his recent statements were a deliberate attempt to revive his own fading public profile.

Ray J, whose legal name is Ray Norwood Jr., is best known for his past relationship with Kardashian and a leaked sex tape from 2007. His representative did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The lawsuit seeks damages for reputational and financial harm caused by what it describes as a "media storm" following his remarks. The case is being handled by attorney Alex Spiro, who recently represented Alec Baldwin.
