Kerry Katona Opens Up About Recent Miscarriages and Spain Relocation Plans
In a deeply personal interview on Paul C Brunson's Need To Talk podcast, Kerry Katona has revealed she suffered two miscarriages with boyfriend Paolo Margaglione. The 45-year-old singer and reality star shared intimate details about their relationship journey and their decision to relocate to Spain this September.
Unexpected Pregnancy During Reality Show Filming
The couple's relationship began on the set of Celebs Go Dating, which started filming around April 2025. They went public with their romance in June 2025 and moved in together just two months later. Paolo, a 33-year-old personal trainer, recalled the moment he suspected Kerry was pregnant during the show's finale.
'So Kerry was, unknowingly pregnant at the finale of Celebs Go Dating... I found out in the morning. I could smell it on her, like, weird. I said, "You're pregnant", Paolo revealed during the podcast interview.
Kerry described taking multiple pregnancy tests, with one initially showing negative before a morning test confirmed the pregnancy. 'I got up early, I'll go do my meditation so I won't wake him up and I peed on the stick. This is an exclusive, I've not gone public with this', she explained, noting she hadn't conceived in seven years prior to this.
Heartbreaking Miscarriage Experiences
The singer shared the emotional turmoil she experienced after discovering she was pregnant. 'And then the thought of having an abortion killed me. It felt like it was made from love... And unfortunately I miscarried and then we tried', Kerry confessed.
Tragically, the couple experienced a second miscarriage at just four weeks. 'And I'd miscarried again, only at four weeks. And I didn't realise how much I wanted it then', she revealed, highlighting how the losses made her recognize her desire for another child.
Family Dynamics and Spain Relocation
Kerry is mother to five children from previous relationships:
- Molly, 23, and Lilly-Sue, 22, with ex-husband Brian McFadden
- Heidi, 18, and Max, 17, with ex Mark Croft
- Dylan-Jorge, 10, with the late George Kay
Meanwhile, Paolo is father to two daughters, Milani and Nola, from a previous relationship.
The couple has confirmed they will be moving to Spain in September, a decision that has elicited mixed reactions from Kerry's children. 'Paolo and I have decided we're moving to Spain in September and we've started looking at places', Kerry explained.
'It's really exciting but I'm also nervous. I've told the kids and they've had mixed feelings. Heidi isn't happy, but our Molly said, "Good for you, Queen, you do you"', she continued in her new! magazine column.
Factors Influencing the Move
Kerry had previously planned to relocate to Spain with ex-fiancé Ryan Mahoney, though those plans never materialized. The current decision has been accelerated by the closure of her youngest son's school in July.
'I recently got a message announcing they are shutting DJ's school down in July. Molly, Lilly and Heidi all went to that school, so I am truly gutted', Kerry explained.
'Now we're running around trying to get her into a different school, but they favour pupils who already have siblings who attend, so DJ's been put on a waiting list', she added, describing the school closure as a 'sign' to move sooner than planned.
The singer emphasized that while the move presents challenges in ensuring everyone's happiness, she sees it as a positive change. 'If the older kids want to move too they can. DJ is coming of course', she wrote, adding 'It's a lot trying to juggle and make sure everyone's happy, but if I'm working I'm never in the house and if I'm at home I sit there by myself, so why not sit in the sun?'
Kerry and Paolo first hinted at their relocation plans during their first joint interview together last month, with the couple now moving forward with their Spanish adventure while processing their recent pregnancy losses.
