Supermodel and television personality Kendall Jenner has publicly addressed the long-standing speculation surrounding her sexuality, putting years of rumours to rest. The 30-year-old confirmed she is heterosexual during a frank conversation on the podcast In Your Dreams with Owen Thiele.
A Lifetime in the Spotlight
Having grown up in the glare of the reality TV spotlight with her famous family, the Kardashians, Jenner has often kept her private life guarded. She suggested that this very desire for privacy is what fuelled the speculation that she might be a lesbian. Unlike her sisters, who have frequently shared their romantic relationships publicly, Jenner has historically been more reserved.
In a 2018 interview with Vogue, she pondered the rumours, stating she didn't have a "bisexual or gay bone in my body," but remained open to life experiences. Despite being linked to several high-profile male celebrities, including Harry Styles, Nick Jonas, and Bad Bunny, the whispers persisted.
The Podcast Clarification
On the podcast, which aired on 9th January 2026, Jenner decided to confront the topic head-on. She expressed understanding for the difficulty of coming out but was clear about her own identity.
"I understand that coming out is not an easy thing for anybody, if not most people," Jenner said. "And I’m not saying that’s an easy thing, but knowing, and I can speak for myself here, and knowing myself, I think at this point in my life I’d be out if I was."
She added that she would have "no problem" being gay and criticised the notion that it could be "bad for business." Jenner concluded, "All’s to say, as of today, I am not [gay]. I don’t think I will be, but I’m not closing doors to experiences in life."
Reacting to "Mean" Online Commentary
During the interview, Jenner also touched upon the nature of the online comments that have surrounded the speculation. She described them as far from welcoming or kind.
"It’s not with, like, a welcoming arm of like, ‘Hey, if you were, yes, come join.’ It’s not kind. It’s very mean," she revealed, expressing her shock at the vitriol.
The model's candid discussion comes amid continued public interest in her family's lives. The news follows recent engagement rumours surrounding her sister, Kylie Jenner, and her boyfriend of two years, actor Timothée Chalamet. Fans speculated about a large diamond ring Kylie wore in a social media video, though neither party has confirmed the rumours.
By directly addressing the speculation, Kendall Jenner has sought to control the narrative around her personal life, emphasising her right to privacy while clarifying her truth for the public record.
