Kelly Osbourne has written a heartfelt letter to her mother Sharon Osbourne on what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary to Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July 2025 at age 76. The 41-year-old shared a photo of a basket of flowers with the letter attached on Instagram, captioning it: "A letter to my Mother on what would have been her 46th wedding anniversary! I love you so much! @sharonosbourne daddy is always with us for love is eternal @ozzyosbourne."
The Letter's Contents
In the letter, Kelly wrote: "My Dearest Mummy. Today feels different. A day that was once filled with celebration now carries a quiet ache. This is your first wedding anniversary without Daddy by your side, and I can only imagine how heavy your heart must feel." She added: "There are some dates that remind us just how deeply we have loved, and today is one of them. I hope you know that love like yours doesn't end when a life does. It changes shape."
Kelly continued: "Daddy may no longer walk beside you, but he will never stop walking with you. I often find myself imagining him looking down on you with that magical smile, the one that held so much pride and so much love." She praised Sharon as "resilient, compassionate, courageous, and endlessly loving," noting that she has learned to carry "both grief and hope in the same heart" with "extraordinary grace."
Advice and Family Support
Kelly urged her mother to remember that "a lifetime of love cannot be erased by death" and that it lives on in stories, lessons, and family. She mentioned her three-year-old son Sidney, whom she shares with Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson, writing: "Sidney and I love you more than words could ever hold. He may not fully understand today, but he already knows what it feels like to be wrapped in your love."
She assured Sharon: "As you walk through every first, every anniversary, every birthday, every Christmas, and every milestone that now feels different without Daddy, please never forget that you do not walk them alone. We are here." Kelly concluded: "Daddy's greatest legacy wasn't simply the life he lived. It was the love he gave, the family he helped create, and the remarkable woman that he adored. That woman is you."
Fan Reactions
Fans responded with support, with one writing: "I've got goosebumps all over my body. What a beautiful letter Kelly. Your dad is always, always with you." Another said: "Sending you all so much love today, especially mama @sharonosbourne." A third commented: "I am grateful to see this post. I lost my dad almost 4 weeks ago. Today would be his anniversary as well. Your words are simply beautiful."
Sharon did not post a tribute on her own Instagram, but a previous story promoted a new Black Sabbath exhibition at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, open until September 27, featuring Ozzy's iconic throne. Ozzy and Sharon married on July 4, 1982, in Maui, Hawaii; Sharon reportedly chose Independence Day so the date would be on every calendar, ensuring Ozzy would never forget.
