Brandon Blackstock, Kelly Clarkson's Ex-Husband, Dies at 48 from Melanoma

Brandon Blackstock, a talent manager and the ex-husband of singer Kelly Clarkson, has died at the age of 48. The cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer, with the manner of death ruled natural causes by Silver Bow County Coroner Don Hollis.

Blackstock had been battling cancer for more than three years, his family confirmed. 'It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,' a family spokesperson said. 'Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.' The family requested privacy during this difficult time.

Clarkson postponed her Las Vegas residency to be with her family, citing her children's father's illness. Blackstock and Clarkson had two children together. He also had two children from a previous marriage and became a grandfather in 2022. Blackstock was an executive producer on the first season of The Kelly Clarkson Show and worked on Blake Shelton Live: It's All About Tonight. Reba McEntire, his former stepmother, was previously married to his father, Narvel Blackstock.
