A video has resurfaced showing country singer Keith Urban awkwardly shutting down questions about his wife Nicole Kidman, following reports of the couple's separation. Kidman, 58, filed for divorce on 30 September, with reports suggesting Urban made the decision to separate. The couple, married in 2006, have reportedly been living apart since the beginning of summer.
In a September 2024 interview with Gold 101.7's Jonesy & Amanda show, Urban was asked about his 'amazing love story' with Kidman, whom he met in January 2005. When host Amanda asked if their paths would have crossed regardless, Urban replied, 'No, I think it would.' Pressed on whether he believed in fate, he bluntly said, 'No idea,' before an awkward silence led him to remove his jacket and conclude, 'You never know. Anyway, moving on.'
The hosts later noted that Urban had previously been happy to discuss Kidman, but this time his body language was described as 'hard to watch' by viewers. Earlier this year, Urban appeared to hang up on an interview with Mix 102.3's Hayley & Max in the Morning when asked about Kidman's sex scenes in the Netflix film 'A Family Affair'. A producer informed hosts that Urban had 'disconnected from' the Zoom call, though a source for Urban denied he hung up.
Kidman recently spoke about filming sex scenes in the 2024 film 'Babygirl', describing the experience as involving 'an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then frustration'. She said she was attracted to the project because it was 'an area I'd never been' as an actor.
