Andrew Cuomo to File Complaint Over NY AG's Handling of Harassment Scandal

Disgraced former New York governor Andrew Cuomo is preparing to fight back against the sexual misconduct allegations that led to his resignation last August, his lawyer said Thursday. Cuomo, who has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing, plans to submit a written complaint to the state's Attorney Grievance Committee, highlighting ethics concerns in Attorney General Letitia James' investigation.

His lawyer, Rita Glavin, said during an online press conference: 'He will not let this go. It is insulting to tell someone, when they have been treated wrongly and unfairly, to just move on. He is not going to move on.' Cuomo has repeatedly lashed out at James' investigation, positioning himself as a victim of a political attack.

Glavin claimed that prosecutors' reluctance to bring charges proves Cuomo did not break any laws. 'Five district attorneys reviewed the evidence and after looking at the evidence and looking at the law, those five district attorneys all announced that they’re not going to bring charges. That’s because Governor Cuomo did not sexually harass anybody,' she said.

Concerns among Cuomo's legal team include the 'slow roll' public release of transcripts, allegations of witness tampering, and possible perjury. While Glavin acknowledged that Cuomo might have violated the state's sexual harassment policy, she said no crime was committed, adding: 'Kissing someone on the cheek is not sexual harassment. It just isn’t.'
