Keanu Reeves has addressed recent marriage rumours, praising his partner Alexandra Grant for handling the speculation 'wonderfully'. The actor, 61, has been in a relationship with the visual artist, 52, since 2018, and last month fans speculated the couple had secretly tied the knot.
Speaking to E! News, Reeves quipped: 'Well, that wasn't the first time. We've been going out for a long time.' He added that while people sent 'a lot of nice messages', he was happy with how Grant dealt with the situation: 'The wedding, it's a nice thing. People did a lot of nice messages and stuff, but Alexandra just did a wonderful [job] addressing.'
Last month, Grant shared a photo of the pair kissing at an art installation and clarified the situation. She wrote: 'This is a real photo. Not an engagement photo or an AI wedding announcement... simply a kiss! ... I'm sharing it here to say thank you to everyone for the congratulations on our wedding. Except we didn't get married.' She added: 'Good news is much needed these days, but it's still fake news, so be careful out there!'
The couple largely keep their relationship private, but Reeves has made rare comments about their happiness. Earlier this year, he said sharing each other's passions 'absolutely' helps, and that 'sharing, communicating' is key. In a previous interview, he described a moment of 'bliss' with Grant: 'We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.'
