Katie Price Questions I'm A Celeb's Richard Madeley Ban After Hospital Dash

Katie Price has criticised I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! bosses for barring Richard Madeley from returning to the castle after his hospital visit. The former glamour model, who appeared on the show in 2004, expressed confusion over why the Good Morning Britain presenter was allowed to chat with hosts Ant and Dec at Gwrych Castle but not re-enter the camp.

Richard, 65, left the show after feeling unwell overnight and being taken to hospital. Due to strict Covid-19 protocols, he could not rejoin the camp after breaking the show's 'bubble'. However, Katie, 43, questioned the decision in a reaction video on Instagram, noting that Richard was permitted to interview Ant and Dec without a mask, despite the hosts later entering the camp.

Katie said: "Just seen the first half of the show and Richard done so well with his speech... So because of Covid reasons, they said he couldn't go back in the camp. Then how's he gone back in the camp to do an interview with Ant and Dec, who will be going in the camp when they reveal who's doing the challenges? I can't get my head around that either and he didn't have a mask on or anything."

It is understood that strict social distancing was maintained between Richard and the hosts, and Ant and Dec typically stand apart from campmates, which may explain why no rules were breached. Richard, in a statement, confirmed he was fine but had to leave due to the Covid bubble being broken. He said: "Obviously I’m gutted to be leaving so soon but the safety of all the campmates is the number one priority."

The show faced further disruption after a tree collapsed at the site, leading to pre-recorded and cancelled episodes. Friday's show was pre-recorded, and weekend episodes were cancelled, with clips from previous years airing instead.
