Katie Price has been left shaken after her children received death threats online, but the model and reality star insists she will not stop sharing pictures of them on social media. Her son Junior, 15, revealed he had been targeted by a troll who told him and his disabled brother Harvey, 18, to take their own lives. Junior shared a screenshot of the abusive messages, which included the comment 'ugly b-----d'.
Despite the abuse, Price, 42, has continued to post photos of her children on Instagram, which has 2.4 million followers. This attracted further cruel comments, with one critic writing about her daughter Princess, 13: 'I hope she doesn't turn out like her vile mother.' Another posted: 'She's completely average... She's 13 and heavily influenced and dressed up by mum.'
A source close to Price said she is 'stressed and angry' and fears what might come next for her children. However, she believes the best way to protect them is to push for legal action against trolls. 'Rather than stop sharing pics, she thinks it's for the guilty party to be held accountable,' the source said. 'She believes the best way of protecting her kids is stopping trolls by legal force.'
Price has long campaigned for online abuse to be made a criminal offence. In 2019, she won the backing of a parliamentary committee for 'Harvey's Law', which would make trolling illegal and create a register of known trolls. Last month, she begged for the attacks to stop, saying: 'It doesn't just happen with Harvey, it happens with everyone... people are just trolling and it's getting out of hand.'
The source added that the hate directed at her family only makes Price more determined to get Harvey's Law passed. 'She'll keep posting to prove her point, the trolls won't win,' the source said. Junior himself reached out to friends of the troll, asking them to inform the troll's parents and teachers, saying: 'Maybe then he'll learn you shouldn't abuse defenceless people online.'
