Lee Andrews, the husband of former glamour model Katie Price, has been accused of attempting to scam people while incarcerated. Andrews, who is currently held at Al Awir prison in Dubai, is alleged to have used his Facebook page and an accomplice to solicit money from a fan under the guise of an investment opportunity.
Fan's Allegations
A man named David came forward with claims that he contacted Andrews' Facebook account as a joke on May 20, expressing interest in investing money. To his surprise, he received a response on June 3 from someone claiming to be Lee's business manager. The individual, who identified himself as Robert Davis, asked for David's phone number and later requested a £5,000 investment.
David stated, 'I responded and said I was keen to invest – obviously I wasn’t, but I wanted to see how far they would take it.' Davis sent an AI-generated image of a bald man in an office, accompanied by the message: 'I have not done this to any of our clients, but I’m doing this for you because I respect my boss Andrews.'
Further Communications
After exchanging numbers, David received a WhatsApp message from a British number promoting a service called Aura, with a message from Andrews at the top of the profile. He was then asked to transfer money to a personal account under a different name, as the company's accounts were allegedly still being set up. Alternatively, he was offered the option to send money via Western Union to a woman in Mississippi.
When questioned about Andrews' imprisonment, the accomplice responded, 'My boss, he’s not in jail. My boss Andrews has misunderstanding with him wife Katie, that’s why people think he’s in jail, he’s not.'
Katie Price's Visit
Katie Price recently visited Andrews in prison during a trip to Dubai. She stated, 'He is coming out, I can’t wait to see him... he should be out next week.' However, she emphasized that she would not provide him with financial support, saying, 'I’ve made it clear to Lee, I will never give him money... I’ve always been the breadwinner.'
The allegations have sparked widespread attention, with fans and media closely following the developments.
