Katie Price's father-in-law has reportedly been released from prison in Dubai after being detained alongside her husband, Lee Andrews.
Peter Andrews was said to have been taken to the Al-Awir prison last week after being reported to authorities by a third party. Reports suggest he is facing allegations of fraud, similar to those reportedly involving his son, although no further details have been made public.
Release and contact with Katie
According to The Sun, Peter has now been freed from custody, with Katie said to have already spoken to him following his release. A source told the publication: "Katie is aware that Peter has been let out and has spoken to him. She's focusing on her life and job commitments in the UK at the moment and just putting her best foot forward."
Ongoing legal troubles
The latest development comes during another turbulent period for Katie and Lee, who tied the knot in January just 10 days after first meeting. Lee has faced repeated legal issues in Dubai in recent months. He was first detained in May, later claiming he had been questioned at what he described as a "black site" before it emerged he had been transferred to Al-Awir prison.
He spent around a month behind bars before being released, with Katie travelling to Dubai for an emotional reunion with her husband. However, Lee was arrested again earlier this month.
Controversial recording
Last weekend, further controversy surrounded the businessman after he was heard discussing the possibility of selling what he claimed was a private intimate video featuring himself and Katie in an attempt to raise money. Speaking in a recording published by The Sun, Lee said: "I need to get cash quickly. I've got some things to trade. I'm trying to sort out my Only Fans.
"I could always release my sex tape with my wife, but it might go for a pretty penny. Yeah, there is a short one of that, but that's between you and me. So see if a newspaper will pay for that – quarter of a million f****** quid…"
After being warned that releasing such footage without Katie's consent would be illegal, Lee immediately backtracked. "I was not serious on that mate. We have Only Fans. We will do our thing on this," he said. Katie later denied that she and Lee had made a sex tape together.
It had initially been claimed Lee had been released earlier this week after disappearing from his prison wing. However, The Sun reports he had instead been moved to another block before later being returned. His current legal situation remains ongoing.
