Katie Price has returned to social media with a call for kindness after being arrested at Heathrow Airport and appearing remotely at a bankruptcy hearing. The 46-year-old former glamour model was taken into custody on Thursday upon her return from Turkey, where she had undergone a £10,000 facelift. Her disabled son Harvey was present during the arrest.
Price appeared at a specialist bankruptcy court at the Rolls Building on Friday, hours after her detention. A judge warned her: 'It is quite a serious matter,' and ordered her to attend a further hearing later this month, adding: 'You have to attend that date, no ifs or buts, no going abroad, no holidays.' She had missed a previous court appearance on July 30 due to her trip.
Following the hearing, Price reposted a supportive message from the pop duo Jedward, which read: 'Everyone please be kind to Katie Price. It’s a delicate situation and she deserves support and love.' A second post from Jedward described her as 'a true icon that has been through a lot' and urged followers to 'surround Katie with love.'
Price was declared bankrupt in November 2019 and again in March 2024, owing more than £750,000 to HM Revenue & Customs. In her memoir 'This Is Me,' she wrote: 'Bankruptcy doesn't hold the same fear now I can see a way out of it. I will get into escorting if I need to, not to sleep with the men, just for company.' She also stated she is 'neither embarrassed or ashamed' of her situation and is 'trying my best to work my way out of it.'
