Katie Price has revealed the details of her romance with Married at First Sight UK star JJ Slater, including how they connected through direct messages. The 45-year-old former glamour model and the 31-year-old reality TV star made their red carpet debut earlier this month after being linked since January.
Speaking on the podcast 'It's Not You, It's Them...But It Might Be You', Price disclosed that she had watched Slater on the E4 show last year and was attracted to him. She said: 'I remember watching it going "God if he likes them type of women he'd like me" and I fancied him in that.'
Price explained that she reached out to Slater after learning he had been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, citing her interest in medical issues due to her own health and her son Harvey's conditions. She added that Slater had messaged her two years earlier but she had not seen it.
The couple initially were not looking for a relationship, but their connection evolved naturally. Price stated: 'It was literally just like "well I hope you're alright with it". It was just like innocent. It wasn't a try on. And I wasn't looking for a relationship.'
Price confirmed the romance on Instagram with a selfie, writing: 'They say things happen for a reason, the unexpected happened. Fate. Ticks every box.' Slater replied: 'Fate... thank you so much for being you.'
