Katie Price has confessed she struggles to trust people nowadays but maintains she also finds it challenging to transform herself. The former model and celebrity, 48, has experienced a tumultuous life filled with numerous marriages and romances with well-known personalities, while also amassing millions as a glamour model during her younger years.
Katie's Stance on Change
The mother-of-five is currently wed to controversial figure Lee Andrews, who recently disappeared in Dubai. Regarding her lifestyle, Katie revealed: 'I just don't think anyone can change me. I say to my mum all the time, "I'm 48. I'm never going to change. I am what I am. Just get used to it."'
She added: 'She'll say, "Why do you do this? Why do you do that?"... and I'll say, "Mum, just let me be me."'
Katie told the Mirror: 'But I trust my family, and I find it hard to trust anyone. That's why my circle is so small these days. I don't need more friendships or anything. I'm happy with how it is.'
Promoting Her New Documentary
Katie is currently publicising her new four-part Sky documentary, 'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide'. The programme features her discussing her four marriages, nine engagements, and her life and career to date. It also showcases her former partners including Dane Bowers and Gareth Gates speaking on camera, recounting wild evenings and extraordinary incidents.
Katie emphasises the thing she yearns for most now is understanding what she's doing and being in control. She declared: 'Being in control of everything. No one controls me now. No one dictates what I do. I still have my little rebellious moments and all of that, but that's just me. My life will never be boring. It's always, "What's she done now?", and I think it's always going to be like that, but to be honest I like it like that, because it's exciting.'
Her Career and Turmoil
Since bursting onto the scene as her alter ego 'Jordan' in 1996, Katie has become one of the most snapped women of her era. Her life over the past three decades has unfolded across newspapers, magazines, reality TV and social media, encompassing everything from marriages, motherhood and multi-million pound contracts to scandal, cosmetic surgery, bankruptcy and betrayal.
She stated: 'Across the whole thirty years, there's always been an element of fun. But if you imagine weighing scales, as much as there's been good, there's equally been bad. As the decades went on, the bad started to take a toll on me, which obviously affected my mental health. But I am a happy girl, and I like to make things fun, different and creative. That's one thing you can't take away from me.'
Her Private Life
Despite the constant turmoil in her life, she insists that she enjoys tranquillity when she's off camera and spending time with her family. When asked about her real life, she responded: 'Very boring, I would say. I love being at home and doing normal things: cooking, putting the fire on, watching TV, having a cup of tea and looking forward to the latest drama or reality show. I ride my horses, walk the dog and get my hair and nails done. That is literally it. I don't go to parties and all of that. Very rarely. I'm just a home girl, which people would probably be surprised to see.'
'Katie Price: Nothing to Hide', a four-part Sky Original series, will be available on Sky and streaming service NOW on July 8.
