Katie Price Legally Binds Marriage to Lee Andrews in Secret Dubai Ceremony
Katie Price has officially made her marriage to fourth husband Lee Andrews legally binding through a secret second ceremony in Dubai, and notably, she has not signed a prenuptial agreement. The former glamour model, aged 47, surprised fans by marrying the so-called businessman, aged 41, in Dubai in January, merely two days after their engagement. At the time, it was revealed that the initial wedding held no legal weight and was purely symbolic, taking place at the luxurious One and Only Royal Mirage hotel on Palm Jumeirah island, which costs £600 per night.
Legal Registration in Abu Dhabi
However, recent documents confirm that Katie and Lee formally registered their marriage on February 17 at Abu Dhabi’s judicial department. Photographs from the occasion show the couple dressed casually, with Katie wearing jeans and a sweatshirt as they exchanged vows. This legal step solidifies their union, which has been surrounded by controversy and family worries.
Defending Her Husband and Trust
The whirlwind marriage comes as Katie has doubled down on her insistence that Lee is not "a con man or a scammer" and that she is "the happiest I’ve ever been." She revealed her deep trust in her new husband by declining to sign a prenup before their rapid wedding. Addressing concerns from her family and accusations from Lee's ex-partners about his finances, business acumen, and false celebrity links, Katie asserted she is "not stupid." She claims Lee, who has previously described himself as a millionaire or billionaire, has provided documents to attest to his wealth and proof of purchasing their new £36 million home in Dubai with cash.
Katie stated she conducted due diligence by speaking to Lee's father and his Russian ex-wife Cezara, declaring that Lee "ticks every box." In an interview with The Sun, she expressed, "I thought I'd been in love before but this feels different. It's not even about lust, it's just instant connection on all levels. I fell in love with him long before I had sex with him." The couple first connected on Instagram, where Lee appeared as a suggested follow, leading Katie to message him directly. They exchanged messages for up to five hours daily before meeting in person in Dubai.
Family Concerns and Reactions
Despite her confidence, Katie's loved ones were blindsided by the swift nuptials and have expressed anxieties that the marriage might be "a potential scam." She dismissed these worries, emphasizing that at 47, she is not a child and that her unconventional life requires her family to "let me be me." She acknowledged their concerns, saying, "Of course my family are going to worry, I wouldn't expect anything different. They love me and they've seen me go through so much heartache, and the most horrific times. So I don't blame them for being p***ed off and angry. They love me and I love them too. But I'm not a kid anymore, I am 47, I can make my own choices, and I will. They have to give me that chance to go and find out for myself."
Katie's sister Sophie has hinted at her disapproval, pausing their podcast and sharing social media posts that suggest unease, including a video of British fields with the caption, "This and never stepping foot in Dubai." She also reposted a clip discussing family approaches in difficult times, ending with, "I'm not going to try and change you. I just hope you come to your senses at some point. But I'll be with you and I'll be supporting you."
Children's Support and Future Plans
Katie's five children have yet to meet Lee, but her eldest, Princess, 18, and Junior, 20, stated on This Morning that they are "happy as long as she's happy." Junior added, "Our mum is her own person, she's her own woman, she's going to do what she's going to do and at the end of the day, we're supportive of her as long as she's happy." Lee and Katie plan to hold a larger wedding in the UK with family and friends soon, despite claims from his ex, Alana Percival, that he is legally bound to the UAE.
Controversies and Legal Issues
Lee has presented himself as a high-flying business mogul, but the Daily Mail revealed he was banned from leaving Dubai after spending three weeks in a UAE jail for allegedly forging his ex-girlfriend's signature to secure a £200,000 loan. He denied these allegations, calling them "complete b******s." Since their wedding, Katie has returned to the UK alone twice, despite Lee's promises to join her, and their honeymoon plans were postponed, remaining in Dubai.
Recently, Lee mentioned on social media that Katie is returning to Dubai via Oman due to Middle East conflicts affecting flights, stating, "The flights have started to open. The flights are a bit backed up, but if not you can always go through Oman, it is next door and one of the neighbouring countries. I'm not going to tell you all my plans but Katie would fly there and I would go to Oman and pick her up and bring her home because that's what you do when you are married and in love, you try everything right? Or have I got that wrong?" The UAE government has issued travel warnings due to volatile security situations, advising against travel and noting potential flight disruptions.
