Katie Price's new dog was taken in by Lee Andrews' ex when he was thrown behind bars in Dubai for a second time earlier this month. But now she's raised concerns about sending the dog to the UK, where Katie lives.
Pomsky purchase and backlash
Last month, Katie and Lee bought a male pomsky - a cross between a Siberian Husky and a Pomeranian - costing around £2,000. The decision was slammed by animal charity PETA, which has gone as far as offering the reality star money to stop buying animals.
Ex-wife's rescue and dilemma
Lee's ex Dina Taji rescued the pooch as Lee was behind bars (he has now reportedly been released) and Katie was back in the UK. She didn't name Katie directly, but she did admit she was worried about sending the dog to 'the person' in the UK.
On how she saved the animal, Dina said: "When I found out this person got locked up, the first thing that came to mind was, 'Oh my God, where's this dog? Okay, I need to save this dog now. This person is in jail."
"Immediately, I got the dog. Okay, I reached out. Where's the dog? I'm gonna take it. I'm gonna make sure it's safe. Now I'm receiving a lot of messages, and new information is coming to me surfacing that I should not send this dog to the UK."
She asked followers: "I want to hear your opinion and anything that you would like to share with me regarding this dog that I have with me right now. Because honestly, I'm receiving a lot of messages and I'm starting to find things out that I didn't know before. I had no idea."
Past animal concerns
Dina, who also rescues cats, added: "I'm always gonna do what's best for the animal. OK, and the person who wants me to send the dog to the UK, I don't know them. I don't know them."
"So all of this information, now I'm starting to receive. I need to investigate. I need to understand what is going on. I'm trying to communicate, and I'm trying to understand things and everything, but we're not getting there. I am gonna have to go. I have to go to the municipality. I have to get advice from them and I would like to understand what is going to be the best move moving forward with it all."
Katie has come under fire for her treatment of animals over the years, as a number of her pets have died under her care, including five dogs, a horse and a chameleon. She recently sparked concern for suggesting she was re-evaluating what to do with the 17 animals she already has, given she travels to and from Dubai a lot.
