Katie Price Doc Bombshells: Sheringham, Suicide Attempt, Abuse

Katie Price's new documentary 'Katie Price: Nothing To Hide' is set to air next week, and it is packed with revelations about her tumultuous life. The 48-year-old, currently married to Lee Andrews, opens up about her childhood trauma, her relentless search for love, and her many high-profile relationships.

Childhood Trauma and Its Impact

Price reveals that her childhood was marked by sexual abuse and her parents' divorce. She recalls being attacked by a paedophile at age seven in a park, an incident that profoundly affected her. 'This boy and this girl walked past and they must have called the police,' she says. 'The police were talking – I don't know what they asked – but I remember they took my knickers. Through the years, there's a picture of abuse by men against me, taking advantage of me from a young age.' She adds that each trauma impacted her, noting, 'I used to like dressing up and being looked at but not being touched. I was the one in control.'

Early Romances and the Teddy Sheringham Affair

Price's first serious relationship was with semi-professional footballer Gary Bolingbroke. However, she ended it abruptly in 1996 when she began seeing England striker Teddy Sheringham. 'I'd always fancied Teddy Sheringham so I thought f**k it,' she recalls. 'I met Teddy at a hotel.' The next day, the affair made front-page news, leading to a confrontation with Bolingbroke at her mother's house.

Love and Heartbreak with Dane Bowers

Price then fell deeply in love with pop star Dane Bowers of Another Level. Despite their mutual affection, Bowers disliked her glamour career. 'He might have been the tubby one, but looks aren't everything,' Price says. 'I loved Dane. I did.' Bowers confirms they were in love, but he pressured her to stop topless modelling. When he cut her out of his promotional tour with Victoria Beckham, Price retaliated by doing a topless calendar, leading to their breakup. Heartbroken, Price attempted suicide. 'Did I want to kill myself? No, but I thought by doing that he'd know how much I love him and I'd get him back,' she explains. 'No, he still didn't want to know.'

Revenge with Dwight Yorke and Relationship with Gareth Gates

To hurt Bowers, who was a Manchester United fan, Price began dating United star Dwight Yorke. 'It wasn't love at all,' she admits. 'It was massive revenge on Dane.' When she became pregnant with Harvey, Yorke left her. Next, she had a brief but intense relationship with Pop Idol star Gareth Gates, then 17. Gates now admits it was serious, though he denied it at the time. Price later claimed their sex life cured his stammer, a revelation she regrets. 'That was a moment I wish I never did,' she says. 'I shouldn't have gone into detail about it, but I did.'

Marriage to Peter Andre and Later Life

Price met Peter Andre on I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in 2004. They married in 2005 and had two children, Junior and Princess, before divorcing in 2009. 'Meeting Pete and being with Pete were the best times of my life without a doubt,' she says. In recent years, Price has had therapy and been diagnosed with ADHD. She acknowledges her struggles with impulse control and her plummeting weight. 'I've learned to control those impulsive tendencies to a degree, but you can't change who I am,' she says. 'I'm one of a kind.'

'Katie Price: Nothing To Hide' airs Wednesday 8 July at 9pm on Sky Documentaries and NOW.
