Katie Price returned to Instagram hours after her bankruptcy hearing on Friday, which she did not attend. The former glamour model faced a short hearing at a specialist insolvency and companies court, where she was neither present nor represented.
Judge Paul Greenwood ruled that Ms Price will face questioning over her finances, with a one-day examination to be listed for the first available date after July 21. Barrister Darragh Connell told the court: “We are now at the stage where this matter needs to be expeditiously dealt with.”
Hours after the hearing, Ms Price took to her 'memorabilia' Instagram page to sell used items. Posing from her home, she told fans that “quality riding boots, wellies and chaps” were available, adding: “DM or email for info and don't forget you can send in requests of what you're looking for.”
The reality star was declared bankrupt four years ago and has been accused of breaching a payment agreement. In a previous appearance on Jeremy Vine’s Channel 5 show, she said: “You shouldn’t be ashamed if you have a bankruptcy because for different reasons people go into bankruptcy.” She cited mental health struggles as a factor in her financial difficulties.
During a 2020 court hearing, Ms Price apologised, stating: “I just haven’t been able to deal with these issues or in the right mental state to understand everything that has been going on.” She maintained that her engagement with creditors, though “too little too late” in their view, represented “real” progress.
