Katie Price and Peter Andre Declare Legal Truce After Years of Public Feuding
In a surprising turn of events, former celebrity couple Katie Price and Peter Andre have released a joint statement today, announcing a mutual agreement to cease all public criticism of each other. This decision comes after a highly publicised and bitter row that erupted last summer, prompting both parties to seek legal intervention to protect their family's privacy and stability.
The Final Straw: A Podcast Outburst Sparks Legal Action
The conflict reached its peak when Katie Price vented her frustrations on a tell-all podcast, accusing Peter Andre and his management team of deliberately excluding her from their daughter Princess's debut reality television series. She expressed deep distress over being portrayed negatively and claimed she was banned from her daughter's 18th birthday party, alleging that Peter's team considered her "trash."
Katie appealed for a private discussion to resolve the issues, emphasising her desire to avoid putting Princess in the middle of their disputes. She stated, "I feel like I've missed out on so much and it's so not fair to bring Princess as piggy in the middle so I think it's about time all of us adults just sit down and talk about what their beef is with me and just get over it. Life would be such more at peace."
Peter Andre's Furious Response and Legal History
Peter Andre responded swiftly on Instagram, breaking his long-standing silence to address what he described as repeated falsehoods. He revealed that their children, Junior and Princess, had been in his care since 2018 due to safety concerns, a fact supported by a legally binding family court order from 2019. He also referenced previous court cases in 2011 and 2015 where Katie was found to have made false claims, resulting in her paying damages and apologising.
In his statement, Peter asserted, "For sixteen years, I have stayed silent in the face of repeated lies from my ex-wife and her family, out of respect for my children and loved ones, but staying silent has been incredibly frustrating. That ends today." He indicated his intention to address further accusations legally in the coming months.
A New Chapter: Joint Statement and Legal Commitment
Today, both Katie Price and Peter Andre took to Instagram to post an identical joint statement, signalling a truce. They wrote, "Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect. We are both focused on creating a calm and supportive environment for our children."
The statement continued, "We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward. This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability. We want to stand united for our children. We are hoping this is a start of a positive relationship. We ask for understanding and support from both the media and the public as we move ahead."
A spokesperson for Katie Price added that she is now in a better mental state and has placed the matter in the hands of her lawyers, stating, "Kate is in a much better and clear headspace and is at peace with the situation, this was in the past and she doesn't feel the need to bring up tit for tat comments, but more importantly she's dealing with this the right way and it's now in her lawyers hands. Kate will no longer be gaslight [sic] and bullied as she once was..."
This legal agreement marks a significant shift from their tumultuous past, which included a four-year marriage ending in 2009 and numerous public disputes. By vowing to never speak about each other negatively again, they aim to foster a more peaceful co-parenting relationship for their children, Junior and Princess.
