Comedian Kathy Griffin has confirmed she underwent her third facelift, addressing speculation head-on during her podcast Talk Your Head Off. The 64-year-old was photographed looking noticeably taut while hiking near her Malibu home, prompting her to discuss the surgery candidly.
“Very taut is also very true!” she quipped. “It’s my third. I know that’s so vain! I’m so vain for no reason. No one has ever gone to a Kathy Griffin show to see her beautiful, youthful face. You come to hear my jokes.” She added that she does not want audiences to care about her appearance, noting she was wearing “Lululemon’s” and “fat pants.”
Griffin credited Beverly Hills facial plastic surgeon Dr Ben Talei for the work, which included a facelift, blepharoplasty, a foxy eye lift, and work on her chin. She described a stitch in her chin, joking that it would only be visible if someone was “under me, but not in that way.” She admitted the recovery was painful and involved drains coming out of her chin, calling it “disgusting” but driven by vanity.
The comedian also revealed she stayed at a “rich lady recovery place” with gauze on her head “like a soccer ball.” Friends responded warmly, with Melissa Rivers commenting “You look great!” on an Instagram clip. Griffin has been open about past procedures, including breast augmentation, a brow lift, and liposuction, which she said nearly killed her in 1999. She also had half her left lung removed in 2021 after a cancer diagnosis and is now cancer-free.
