Kathy Griffin went Instagram official with her new boyfriend on Sunday, 16 months after finalizing her second divorce. The 65-year-old comedian, who boasts 4.2 million social media followers, captioned the announcement: 'We're insta official. Deal with it. (to any straight guy that is secretly hot for me, but is afraid of what his "bro" friends would say).'
Fans Speculate on Mystery Man's Identity
In the comments section, fans thought Griffin's mystery man resembled Lance Armstrong, Tony Hawk, and Ron Reagan, but she clarified that he is 'not famous, not in the entertainment industry at all.'
Griffin's First Revelations About Her New Beau
The two-time Emmy winner first spilled the beans on her mystery man in her YouTube vlog Talk Your Head Off last week. She said: 'It's really fun, like, I'm having fun. This guy lives in another state. Like, I don't know if it could ever be anything.' She added: 'I really am enjoying getting to know this guy, and I'm shocked because it's like he fell out of a parachute.'
Griffin explained that she knows him through someone else, not a dating app. She said: 'And I don't know what's going to happen, but I'm trying to practice not doing the things I've done in the past, which haven't ended so well.'
Details About Her New Partner
The flame-haired funnywoman revealed that her new beau 'deals with' Asperger's syndrome and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, but he is 'super smart' and not intimidated by her fame. 'I love quirky people,' Griffin shrugged. 'I'm best friends with Sia and you guys know she's autistic and talks about it.'
Griffin's Past Relationships and Divorce
The Grammy winner, who underwent her third facelift last year, said it is very sweet to receive texts from him hoping she has a good morning or good evening. She admitted: 'I will be honest. I did not take my divorce well. Meaning I was quite heartbroken... I'll just keep you posted or not. I don't know. This is all uncharted territory in a way.'
The Illinois-born comic divorced her first husband, computer administrator Matt Moline, in 2006 after five years of marriage amid allegations he stole $72,000 from her. Griffin dated Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak from 2007 to 2008 and was in a four-year relationship with her tour manager until their 'messy' 2012 split.
The Unconventional actress divorced her second husband, marketing executive Randy Bick, last year after three years of marriage and nine years of being together. 'The divorce laid me out worse than [my lung] cancer. It's just heartbreaking,' Griffin said on The View on April 24.
Moving Forward
'You get over it and if you're me, you get over it by doing stand-up,' she said. However, the My Life on the PTSD List star does not resume her New Face, New Tour until September 11 at the Pantages Theater in Tacoma, Washington. Griffin continues to hold the Guinness World Record for the highest number of televised stand-up specials (23) by a comedian for any network.
