The Princess of Wales has delivered a masterclass in diplomatic dressing during her first solo overseas trip in four years, visiting Reggio Emilia, Italy, to spotlight early years education.
On the first day, Kate appeared in a striking cornflower blue trouser suit by British-Canadian designer Edeline Lee, paired with a white Holland Cooper bodysuit, tan Ralph Lauren pumps, and a pale blue Asprey handbag. The colour choice may have been a nod to Savoy blue, Italy's historic national colour, rather than the more obvious red, white and green of the Italian flag.
Her accessories included sentimental jewellery: Asprey's 'Woodland' charms on a Monica Vinader pearl necklace, first debuted during her 2014 tour of Australia, with the necklace previously worn on a 2022 visit to Denmark. The vivid tailoring also ensured she remained visible to crowds, echoing the late Queen Elizabeth II's approach to public dressing.
For the second day, the Princess adopted a softer palette and re-wore several familiar pieces. She stepped out in a checked double-breasted blazer by Blazé Milano, previously worn in an Instagram video announcing she had completed cancer treatment, paired with a cream T-shirt and pleated skirt, and two-tone slingback flats by Camilla Elphick.
Accessories included her signature Cartier Ballon Bleu watch and a bracelet by Atelier Molayem. The visit highlighted her approach to fashion with meaningful diplomatic references and sustainable choices, continuing her preference for re-wearing key wardrobe pieces while spotlighting both British and European designers.
