Katie Price has declared she is “not stupid” when it comes to husband Lee Andrews, after flying to Dubai in an attempt to secure his release from prison. The 48-year-old married the businessman earlier this year, within days of meeting him, sparking widespread concern among friends and fans.
Andrews was due to appear on Good Morning Britain last month alongside Price to address speculation about their marriage, but failed to show. Price subsequently reported him missing, before it emerged he had been detained at Al Awir prison in Dubai on espionage accusations. In a new interview, Price revealed that Andrews eventually admitted he had a travel ban, telling him he made her “look like a d**k” and insisting she “won’t stand for” lies.
Price said she is prepared to end the relationship if she does not get satisfactory answers when she finally speaks to him. “I’m not a mug and when I finally see Lee, I am going to question him. And if the answers I get are not right, that will be it: I’ll be done,” she told The Sun.
During her trip to Dubai, Price visited the prison and was initially told she would need to pay £6,500 for his release. However, she was later informed of a third case relating to property, requiring £140,000 for his freedom, which she reportedly refused to pay. Price also met with Andrews’ ex, Dina, for an episode of her podcast, saying her “eyes have been opened” but urging other exes to “just leave it”.
