Kate Garraway 'May Not Have Room' for Romance, Says Co-Star

Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin has cast doubt on whether her co-star Kate Garraway can find time for romance, even as reports emerge of a new relationship with economist and journalist Liam Halligan. Speaking at The Fragrance Foundation Awards in London, Tobin told the Mirror: 'I don't know if she has room in her life for anything other than work and her children.'

New Relationship Sparks Rumours

Kate Garraway, 59, was recently spotted supporting Halligan at a charity event where he cycled from London to Paris in 24 hours to raise money for muscular dystrophy charity Duchenne UK. The pair were seen cuddling, prompting romance rumours. Two weeks later, Garraway told the Mirror: 'It is lovely. I suppose it is. We basically haven't really had time for a proper date! I don't want to jinx it! I don't want to say anything because I will jinx it! We all love an Irishman, don't we?'

Co-Star's Surprise at News

Tobin revealed how she and colleagues learned of the budding relationship: 'It was on the front page of a paper a while ago, and we were all like, what? And then they didn't talk about it, so I want to ask her, but I don't want to pry. I actually don't know. It would be lovely if she had somebody.'

Juggling Family and Work

The 44-year-old meteorologist, who has presented the weather on ITV since 2014, explained that Garraway's busy life makes dating challenging. 'She has two children who are doing all sorts of things, and in the middle of every episode she inevitably will get a call from one of them with something going on at home, so I don't know if she has room in her life for anything other than work and her children.'

Deserving Happiness After Loss

Pressed on whether Garraway deserves happiness after losing her husband Derek Draper over two years ago, Tobin said: 'It would be amazing. She is the funniest, loveliest, cleverest person I've met, who's also a calamity!' Tobin also noted that the GMB team remains close off-screen, exchanging messages and sharing weather photos.
