Kate Ferdinand has admitted she is struggling with homesickness after moving to Dubai with her husband Rio last August. In a candid episode of her podcast, 'Blended', she confessed to missing her family and friends back in the UK. 'I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I can’t talk about it because I get upset,' she said.
The 34-year-old former reality star and Rio Ferdinand, the former England footballer, relocated to the UAE with their younger children, Cree, five, and Shae, two, as well as Rio's daughter Tia, 14. However, Rio's older sons, Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17, stayed in the UK to focus on their football careers, adding to Kate's distress. 'I miss the big boys a lot and I’m struggling with that,' she admitted.
According to a source, Kate finds Dubai 'soulless' and is finding it difficult to adjust despite the luxurious lifestyle. 'She’s juggling with stepkids and her own kids and not finding a lot of time for herself. She has no family out there, so it’s tough,' the insider claimed. Kate recently hinted at the pressure she feels, sharing on social media about 'fatigue' after returning from Christmas in the UK.
Kate is wary of expressing her true feelings for fear of appearing ungrateful. 'She doesn’t want to come across as spoilt,' the source added. Despite the challenges, she and Rio recently became the first British couple to feature on the front of Women’s Health and Men’s Health UK magazines simultaneously, with Kate citing humour as key to their relationship.
