Kate Ferdinand Shares Glimpses of 'Perfect' Family Getaway in Doha

Kate Ferdinand, the former TOWIE star aged 34, and her husband Rio Ferdinand, 47, recently enjoyed what she described as a 'perfect' family weekend in Doha, Qatar. The couple took their children on the trip to the capital city, with Kate actively documenting their holiday experiences through a series of Instagram posts.

Family Moments Captured on Social Media

In one mirror selfie shared online, the couple posed together before heading out for the evening. Kate looked stylish in a black crop top paired with matching trousers. Another heartwarming snapshot showed Kate cuddling her two youngest children, four-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae, who were dressed in matching pyjamas. Accompanying the image, Kate wrote: 'Two very tired babies in their matching PJs on their way home.'

She also posted an adorable photograph of little Shae wearing a pink dress while gazing out of their hotel room window. The family outing included Rio's children from his previous marriage to the late Rebecca Ellison: daughter Tia, 14, and sons Lorenz, 19, and Tate, 17. Kate shared a photo of herself taking a picture of Tia in a brown dress during an evening excursion.

Holiday Milestones and Reflections

The weekend marked a practical milestone for the family, as Kate revealed it was their first holiday without taking a pram for Cree through the airport, opting instead for a buggy. 'Safe to say we regretted it,' she humorously noted in her caption. Another image featured Kate posing with a family friend, which she captioned 'the perfect weekend with you.'

Emotional Challenges Following Relocation

This idyllic getaway comes amid Kate's recent admissions about struggling emotionally since the family's move to Dubai. She confessed to breaking down in tears while expressing how much she misses her family back in the United Kingdom. Although she described Dubai as an 'amazing' place to live, she has found it difficult being separated from Rio's two eldest sons, Lorenz and Tate, who remained in the UK to pursue their football careers.

In an interview with Women’s Health UK, Kate explained her approach to maintaining mental wellbeing: 'I want to look good and I'm happier when I look good, I have to be honest. But I would always choose to exercise because I work out for my mental health, too. I also want to be a healthy role model for my children.' She emphasized her proactive stance, stating she would seek therapy or go for walks if feeling overwhelmed.

Family Adjustments and Future Outlook

Speaking about the relocation last month, Kate reflected: 'I feel like we've opened our eyes to a different world. But I love London, I love the UK. I love so many things about the UK. I do feel happy in Dubai, but I'm just missing a part of me.' She acknowledged that while the move has been beneficial for their younger children and has allowed Rio to be more present with the family after stepping back from his pundit role at TNT Sports, the separation remains challenging.

Kate added: 'I think it's an amazing place to live, I think it's amazing for the children. The children are thriving and happy and living a life of just outside freedom. Rio loves it so much. I am enjoying it, but I miss home quite a lot. I get upset. I miss the big boys a lot and I'm just struggling with that.'

She concluded by recognizing the complexity of their family situation: 'I know this decision is right for my younger children and as a family we are settled there, but the boys are following their football careers. So they're doing what they want to do otherwise they'd be with us. But it's very hard because we've been through so much as a family and we've always been together and that's a huge adjustment.'
