Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of late One Direction star Liam Payne, has given fans a glimpse into her dating life after his death, posting an awkward double date video on TikTok. The 27-year-old, who dated Payne for about two years before his tragic fall from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires in 2024, recently said she felt ready to start dating again.
Awkward Double Date Captured on TikTok
In the clip posted over the weekend, Cassidy filmed herself and a friend on a double date that appeared to be going poorly. The video, captioned “POV you and your friend are carrying the double date,” showed the pair quizzing their dates on sports. After listing “Lacrosse? Football? Cricket? Soccer?” they grew confused, and Cassidy quipped, “Do you know how to score any points?” She captioned the post: “Double date saga.”
Reminiscing About Liam Payne
Cassidy later shared a throwback photo of herself and Payne, set to Mac Miller's track Cinderella featuring Ty Dolla $ign, with lyrics including “Never gonna find nobody better all my life.” She wrote: “Love u 4ever.” In April, she addressed fans about moving on, saying, “I am ready to start dating again. It has been a year and a half since Liam passed away. I think that love after loss is a big chapter within your grief journey.” She added, “I will always love Liam and that will never change no matter who I meet.”
Liam Payne's Fortune Goes to Son Bear
Despite their relationship, Payne's entire fortune—reportedly worth around £21 million—is set to go to his son Bear, whom he shared with ex-girlfriend Cheryl. Bear, now nine, will receive some funds immediately, with the remainder placed in a trust until his 18th birthday. Cassidy was initially named as administrator of the estate along with lawyer Richard Bray.
