Jamie Lee Curtis Shares Rare Photos with Late Sister Kelly in Heartfelt Tribute

Jamie Lee Curtis has shared a series of rare black-and-white photographs with her late sister Kelly Curtis, following the actress's death at the age of 69. The Oscar-winning star posted the intimate images on Instagram over the weekend, showing the sisters together on the eve of her wedding to Christopher Guest in 1984.

The contact sheet, taken by photographer Suzanne Tenner, captures the sisters laughing and embracing in Jamie Lee's apartment. Tenner sent the images to Curtis as a gesture of condolence after Kelly's death. In a caption, Curtis wrote: 'In 1984 on December 17, in the evening before my wedding, my sister, Kelly, who was my maid of honor, came to my apartment and slept over. Our friend, Suzanne Tenner, came and made a portrait of the sisters before I got married. She sent me this contact sheet today in condolence for the loss of my beautiful sister.'

Curtis reflected on their relationship, noting that while they were close as children, they experienced sibling rivalry before reuniting at her wedding. 'She came back to be with me at my wedding and never really left again,' Curtis wrote. Kelly later worked as an assistant for Jamie Lee and became an integral part of her family.

Earlier, Curtis announced Kelly's death in a separate post, describing her as 'my first friend and lifelong confidant.' She remembered Kelly's love of nature, music, and her signature almond crescent cookies, which earned her the nickname 'Auntie Cookie.' Kelly, like her sister, followed their parents Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh into acting, appearing in films such as The Devil's Daughter and working as a production assistant on several of Jamie Lee's movies.

Curtis concluded her tribute with a Hungarian blessing Kelly often used: 'Isten Veled, God is with you.' She added: 'Isten Veled to my sister of the sun and the moon, my Tai. I'll see you on down the line.'
