Kanye West, 48, has made a stark admission about life during a rare public appearance in Japan. The rapper, who now goes by Ye, was approached by a TikTok user while walking in the city at night, flanked by security.
When asked about a fashion trend he regrets, West replied bluntly: 'Life.' The comment has since garnered nearly five million views on TikTok, with many viewers expressing surprise at his candidness and noting his subdued demeanour.
West, who legally changed his name in 2018, described his outfit as 'always a 10 out of 10' and mentioned wearing original Yeezy 950 boots and Gosha apparel. The interview is one of his few recent public statements, as he has largely stayed out of the spotlight.
Earlier this month, West performed with Travis Scott in Japan and also met with a rabbi to express remorse for past antisemitic remarks, attributing them to bipolar disorder. He has been married to Bianca Censori since 2022, and the couple's dynamic has drawn scrutiny over alleged controlling behaviour.
