American country music sensation Kacey Musgraves left her Sydney fans both shocked and amused during a live performance on Thursday, when she shared the story of an X-rated mishap from her stay in the Harbour City.
The On-Stage Confession
While in the middle of her Australian tour, the 37-year-old singer took a break between songs to recount a surprising encounter with a local sauna. In a clip that was later shared online, Musgraves revealed that she had inadvertently wandered into what she described as a 'gay cruising sauna' in Sydney's CBD, having originally been on the hunt for a place to relax.
"It's apparently the gay sauna destination of this country," she laughed with the audience. She went on to describe her initial reaction upon walking through the venue, thinking to herself, "This is very gay. This is not meant for me."
An Unexpected Discovery
Musgraves explained that the establishment's terminology quickly alerted her to the situation. "They used the word 'cruise'," she told the captivated crowd. "They said wet rooms… they said 23 serviceable wet rooms. Plenty of cruising areas."
Despite the unexpected discovery, the country megastar was not deterred. Displaying her characteristic open-mindedness, she decided to stay. "So I still stayed! I wanted to make some friends, I was nosy," she confessed. She even hinted at a potential return visit, adding, "What if I could learn a thing or two in there? They said it's 24 hours so we're going back after the show."
A Pattern of Saucy Posts
This is not the first time this year that Kacey Musgraves has made headlines with X-rated content. Back in April, she posted a very racy question on X (formerly Twitter) that led many fans to believe she had forgotten to post anonymously.
The post in question read: "Is it possible to die of horniness? Asking for a friend." It quickly went viral, amassing over 50,000 likes, 5,500 reposts, 3,100 bookmarks, and nearly five million views in less than 24 hours.
The comments section was flooded with confused reactions. One fan account responded with a GIF of a shocked Ariana Grande and the caption, "Girl, did you forget to switch accounts?" Another fan simply commented, "Had to double check who tweeted this."
Musgraves has been single for nearly two years, following her reported split from poet Cole Schafer in November 2023. The pair had been together for more than two years after she and her songwriter husband, Ruston Kelly, announced their divorce.
