Justin Timberlake reunited with NSYNC for the first time since 2013 during a surprise performance at his 'One Night Only' show at The Wiltern in Los Angeles on Wednesday. The pop group performed a brief set of their biggest hits, including 'Gone', 'Girlfriend', 'Bye Bye Bye', and 'It's Gonna Be Me', as well as their new collaboration 'Paradise' from Timberlake's upcoming album 'Everything I Thought It Was'.
The reunion came as a shock to fans, who had been speculating about a possible appearance after industry representatives hinted at something special. The last time the five members performed together was at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, when Timberlake received the Video Vanguard Award. Before that, the group had not performed together since their heyday in the early 2000s.
Emotions ran high during the performance, with tears streaming down the faces of audience members. Timberlake himself seemed moved, saying, 'I don't know what to do after that but this,' before launching into his solo hit 'Mirrors'. The show also featured Timberlake performing a greatest hits set, including 'Suit & Tie', 'Rock Your Body', and 'Cry Me a River', as well as a duet with Coco Jones and a performance with Tobe Nwigwe.
Despite hopes for a full NSYNC tour, Timberlake has not announced any further reunion plans. The group reunited briefly in 2023 to record 'Better Place' for the 'Trolls Band Together' soundtrack, but no tour materialised. For now, fans will have to cherish this one-night reunion as Timberlake prepares for a global tour in support of his new album.
