Junior Andre enjoyed a day out with his mother Katie Price and older brother Harvey at the horse stables, after opening up about feeling neglected during his childhood.
The singer, 21, left fans heartbroken last week when he admitted he felt 'neglected' by Katie, 47, while reflecting on his upbringing with younger sister Princess. In Katie's new documentary, Junior said of the time when he was 11 and Katie had split from third husband Kieran Hayler: "That was probably the most difficult time of my life, our lives." Princess agreed: "I didn't know what was going on and I couldn't talk to mum about it because she wasn't there." Junior added: "And when she was there, she wasn't there, and we as siblings just kind of looked after each other."
Back in the saddle
Mother and son are now much closer. Junior spent the day with Katie and Harvey at the horse stables, explaining in an Instagram video: "This is kind of where it all started with these beautiful horses." He showed Katie getting a horse called 'Cracker' ready for him to ride, saying: "Mum is getting this one ready for me to ride. Can't remember when the last I rode a horse but I'll give it a go."
Katie said she wanted to get her son "back into riding again" and helped him onto the horse. Junior, who last rode a horse at age 12, trotted around as Katie called him "still a natural". After a few minutes, Junior admitted: "It's hurting my b****s" and Katie joked: "Well you've grown a lot more since [you were last on a horse]."
Documentary revelations
Junior broke down in tears in Katie's documentary while recalling his childhood. After Katie's marriage to Kieran collapsed, she spiralled into depression and developed a cocaine addiction. Junior recalled: "Thinking back to one vivid memory, I was in her bed waiting for her to come back and I woke up 3.30am to loud noises. She came in the room, I'll never forget the look on her face. She was obviously on stuff and it scared me, I'd never seen my mum like this."
He added: "That's when I started seeing the same pattern and her falling down the same hole. When she wasn't in the right headspace she really wasn't and she wasn't being a mum. The mum that I knew from when I was a little boy, the amount of love she gave me was so immense, that's what I missed so much."
