Peter Andre’s wife Emily MacDonagh is now a central member of his family, but son Junior was left mortified when sister Princess revealed that he actually fancied his future stepmum when they were first introduced.
Princess brings up the story at a family barbecue
Three years after his divorce from model Katie Price, “Mysterious Girl” singer Peter started dating doctor Emily. Junior and Princess, his kids with Katie, were just five and three years old at the time.
The family reflected on the time – and Junior’s first impressions of Emily – in the latest series of The Princess Diaries.
In episode two of his sister’s reality TV show, Junior, 21, and Princess, 19, go to see dad Peter, 53, for a barbecue and quiz him about his marriage to Emily, 36.
Asked by Princess when he knew he loved Emily, who the influencer notes she’d known her “whole life”, Peter explained that the pair had known each other for two years before introducing her as his partner.
“And you used to fancy her when you were younger,” Princess said to goad her brother, with Junior asking: “Who, Emily? Now you’re baiting me out.”
Seeing the funny side, Junior then recalled to his dad: “Did I cry to you or something? Because you said Emily’s gonna be your girlfriend and I cried, ’cause I said, ‘She’s my that girlfriend.’” with Peter cracking up in response and Junior putting his head in his hands.
In her talking head, Princess then quipped: “There are some things that Junior will never let me live down, and there are some things that I’ll never let Junior live down.”
Family background
Before Peter met Emily, he was in a relationship with model Katie, 48, having met her on reality series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! and married in 2005.
The pair announced their separation and divorce in 2009, with Katie going on to marry three more times, most recently to Lee Andrews earlier this year.
Peter and Emily, meanwhile, married in 2015 and went on to have three kids of their own together.
Katie and Peter have had a frosty relationship in recent years, but announced in February that they had come to a mutual agreement to no longer speak negatively about one another for the sake of their children.
In a statement shared by both parties on Instagram, they wrote: “Katie Price and Peter Andre have decided to close the door on the past and move forward into a new chapter with positivity and respect.
“We have reached a mutual agreement, both legally and personally confirming that neither of us will speak negatively about the other going forward. This decision reflects a shared commitment to our family and stability.”
