Jude Law’s Wife Phillipa Coan Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance at Venice Film Festival

Jude Law was joined by his wife, Phillipa Coan, at the Venice Film Festival for the premiere of his film The Wizard of the Kremlin. The appearance marked a rare public outing for the psychologist, who married the actor in 2019.

Coan, 38, stepped onto the red carpet in a silver figure-hugging gown, while Law, 52, wore a dapper white suit. The couple, who have two children born in 2020 and 2023, have kept their family life largely private, declining to disclose the children’s names or sexes.

Law and Coan began dating in 2015 after being introduced by mutual friends and confirmed their relationship in May of that year. They became engaged in February 2019 and married in an intimate ceremony in France that May. Law has previously described their relationship as “incredibly healthy,” noting that Coan’s profession as a psychologist helps them communicate openly about their feelings and relationships.

Law’s latest project, The Wizard of the Kremlin, sees him portraying Russian president Vladimir Putin. He defended taking on the controversial role, stating he did not fear repercussions and that the film was not intended to stir controversy. He emphasised that the performance avoids impersonation, relying instead on subtle makeup and a wig to capture Putin’s likeness.
