A Jude Bellingham lookalike competition drew a massive crowd at Boxpark in Shoreditch on Wednesday, crowning a winner just hours before England's World Cup semi-final against Argentina.
Winner Crowned Amid Festivities
The honour of being Bellingham's dead ringer went to Marcus, who accepted his prize from a convincing Erling Haaland doppelganger. The crowd broke into a chorus of Hey Jude to celebrate. Marcus received a vinyl of The Beatles hits and a £1,966 Deliveroo voucher, referencing the last time England won the World Cup in 1966.
The competition, advertised with signs promising free drinks and prizes, saw a slew of Bellingham lookalikes take the stage, showing off keepy-uppies and the midfielder's wide-armed celebration.
Part of Viral Trend
The event follows a trend of high-profile lookalike competitions that went viral two years ago, including one for Timothée Chalamet attended by the actor himself. Bellingham, 23, became the latest celebrity honored with such an event.
England faces Argentina in the semi-final on Wednesday, with heightened security due to political tensions over the Falkland Islands and Argentina's 1986 World Cup win. Bellingham has scored six goals in the tournament, including a brace against Norway in the quarter-final.
