Journey drummer Deen Castronovo was pulled off stage and rushed to hospital on Thursday night (October 8). The musician suffered a medical emergency and had to be replaced by his drum tech, Steve Toomey.

Concert interrupted after second song

The band, famed for hits like Don't Stop Believin', were performing at the BOK Center in Tulsa in Oklahoma and had just finished their second song of the night. The band reportedly left the stage after the song and keyboardist Jonathan Cain returned to update the audience.

He told fans: "So we're going to see what happens as this progresses. It's an unfortunate situation. We're very sorry. We're hoping it's only a delay, but please — I'm sorry. Don't worry."

Band asks fans for prayers

According to Tulsa World, he added: "Have your prayers ready. Have your prayers ready for Deen Castronovo, everybody. Thank you."
