Strictly Come Dancing host Josh Widdicombe has joked he fears his young son could end up like nepo baby Brooklyn Beckham after being offered a VIP experience. The comedian, 43, said his five-year-old is being 'spoiled' after courier firm DHL offered to make his dreams come true with a ride in one of their vans and a bunch of toys.
Podcast Joke Sparks Nepo Baby Comparison
Speaking on his podcast Parenting Hell, Widdicombe said: 'DHL have been in touch and they’ve offered for them to deliver some DHL toys in a DHL van that he can then have a look around. The thing is and I can't believe that I am saying this about some DHL toys and a DHL van - You worry about him being spoiled by getting all of his dreams come true when he's five.'
Fellow podcaster and comedian Rob Beckett laughed: 'I mean nepotism is a big thing and this boys got to realise that not every day is like this!' Referring to Brooklyn, 27, distancing himself from the Beckham clan, Widdicombe added: 'Exactly! And then before you know it you’ve got a Brooklyn Beckham situation on your hands!'
Hotel Booking Confusion
Later in the podcast, the Last Leg presenter also shared fears that hotel staff wrongly believed he rented a room for X-Rated fun after he booked it for a few hours to record their podcast while away from home on tour. He said: 'I had to go "I'm using it this morning" but then I am like, "It sounds like I am s****ing" so then I am like "for work" but then I go "are you allowed to use it for work?" Do you know what I mean? I am panicking. She definitely thinks I am s****ing!'
New Strictly Role
Josh will present the new series of Strictly later this year alongside TV favourite Emma Willis and professional dancer Johannes Radebe.
