Former S Club 7 member Jon Lee has reportedly ended his relationship with boyfriend Jordan Fairhurst just six months after they met on the E4 dating show Celebs Go Dating.
A Romance Derailed by Distance
The singer, 43, and hairdresser Jordan Fairhurst connected instantly when the show was filmed earlier this year. However, their romance faced an immediate hurdle: a significant geographical divide. Jon lives in Cornwall, while Jordan is based in Merseyside, leading to a challenging long-distance relationship after filming wrapped.
A source close to the couple revealed to The Sun that the strain of travel ultimately proved too much. "The distance became too much for Jon and Jordan," the insider said. "They are both so busy and the travelling became too difficult. There's no bad blood at all between them, it was a joint decision." The pair have since unfollowed each other on social media, according to reports.
Hopes for a 'Proper Family Christmas' Dashed
The split comes as a particular disappointment following Jon's recent optimistic comments about their future. Speaking to OK! Magazine, he had shared plans for the festive season, stating: "Jordan's coming to mine in Cornwall, and it's going to be a proper family Christmas." He added it would be the first time he had brought a boyfriend home for the holidays.
This relationship was notably Jon's first in six years. On the debut episode of Celebs Go Dating, he openly discussed being celibate during that entire period, describing his return to dating as a major step. He had previously told The Daily Mail that a series of "traumatic" dating experiences had nearly put him off love for good, prompting a friend to warn, "If you don't do this, you're going to end up single forever."
A Journey of Personal Recovery
Jon's decision to seek love again on television followed a long and difficult personal journey. The musician has spoken publicly about his past battles with addiction, which escalated in his thirties after his pop career and led to him being sectioned and attempting to take his own life. He described a period where he "didn't even recognise" himself.
His recovery has been supported by moving to Cornwall to be near family and his three rescue dogs. Jon, who came out publicly after S Club 7 split in 2010, had viewed the dating show as a "last hurrah" in his search for companionship. A representative for Jon Lee has been contacted for comment by The Daily Mail regarding the split.
