Joel Dommett Reveals Midwives on Standby at London Palladium Show as Wife Overdue
Joel Dommett: Midwives at Palladium as Wife Overdue

Joel Dommett has revealed that midwives were on standby at his London Palladium show on Friday as his overdue wife Hannah Cooper watched from the wings. The Masked Singer presenter, 40, and model, 37, who are already parents to son Wilde, two, announced they were expecting their second child in October.

Joel took to Instagram with behind-the-scenes snaps as he nervously took to the stage knowing Hannah could go into labour at any moment. His wife sat in a comfy seat and watched proudly, before being wheeled on stage by the funnyman during the show.

Joel penned: 'Playing the Palladium while my wife is six days overdue.... Everyone said the second child comes early so didn't move [my show]... we waited... and waited.... still no baby'. 'The day arrived... I thought I was gonna have a 2 week old child by now....we took hospital bags just in case. We got her a comfy chair side of stage. Started the show'.

He went on: 'Invited some doctors and midwives just in case (true story). Would be ruse not to wheel her out. Was so damn fun. Show finished.. still no baby'. 'Straight back home to collect colostrum. And to celebrate we shall call them (boy or girl) Paul Lladium Cooper-Dommett'.

According to NHS, colostrum is the first, highly concentrated, and nutrient-dense breast milk produced during pregnancy and the initial days after birth. It came after Joel revealed Hannah was 'very much overdue' as they made the most of current spring temperatures by posing for a photo in their garden.

Revealing his wife's growing baby bump, Joel penned: 'Palladium day! STILL NO BABY! Very much overdue. See you at 7.30 kids! (But no babies).' 'Happy Palladium day' refers to Joel's ongoing Happy I***t tour, which took place at 7.30 at The London Palladium.

Joel originally confirmed his wife's pregnancy on social media as they prepared to fly to Australia for his annual presenting role on ITV spin-off show I'm A Celebrity: Unpacked. The post showed Hannah revealing her baby bump for the first time while standing alongside Joel and Wilde, with the accompanying caption: 'Baby in mumma tummy. Hard to keep secrets with a toddler around.'

Many of Joel's celebrity friends shared their congratulations in the comments, with Sian Welby writing: 'CONGRATS!!' while Jess Wright wrote: 'Aww you guys, congratulations.' After sliding into Joel's DMs following his 2016 appearance on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, the star and Hannah went on their first date just days later and immediately hit it off.

The couple tied the knot three years later in a romantic beach ceremony in Mykonos, and in September 2023, they welcomed Wilde. Hannah celebrated her birthday last month and shared a glimpse of the special day with an array of snaps on Instagram. She poked fun at some of her birthday exploits, which saw her swapping her days of partying for an afternoon playing with their son. Hannah showed off her growing bump in a plunging leopard print bra-top as she captioned her post: 'Birthday Bump(s)… Literally.'
