Jennifer Lopez Kicks Off New Phase of Las Vegas Residency with Rigorous Preparations
Jennifer Lopez is set to launch the next phase of her Las Vegas residency, The JLo Show, this Friday at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace. The 56-year-old performer has been working tirelessly to prepare for the new shows in Sin City, according to sources close to the star.
Nonstop Rehearsals for a Spectacular Performance
A source revealed to Daily Mail that Lopez is rehearsing night and day to ensure the show is spectacular and better than ever. "Jennifer is working 13-hour days at a studio in North Hollywood with her back-up dancers to make certain she looks like she is on top of her game," the insider said. "She always says she wants to be 'better than yesterday,' it's her thing." Lopez flew from Los Angeles to Las Vegas on Thursday evening via private plane to finalize preparations.
Aiming to Compete with Las Vegas's Top Attractions
Another reason for her intense energy is her desire for the act to be considered one of the top draws in Las Vegas. "Everyone is going to the Sphere these days, that is the town's big deal, so she wants to prove that a more old-fashioned concert at the Colosseum is still the place to be," added the source. Lopez aims to remind fans that, despite being in her fifties, she is still in her prime and proud of her achievements as a Latin woman.
New Music and Guest Appearances
The shows will feature excitement and surprise stars, with Ja Rule having performed at one of her December shows. Lopez shared a video from her Los Angeles studio on Wednesday evening, rehearsing into the late hours while wearing a blue T-shirt that said DREAM. She captioned it, "SAVE ME TONIGHT with my crew ✨ @davidguetta," referencing her new up-tempo single, Save Me Tonight, which releases this week.
In an interview with Derek Hough from Extra, Lopez expressed excitement about the residency, saying, "We're doing the show again in Vegas and we're there every weekend in March, which is exciting, and adding some new songs to the show." She described the concert as "the quintessential JLo show," featuring her hits in a fresh and exciting way.
Motivation and Fan Appreciation
Lopez explained her hard work stems from being in her happy era and loving what she does. "I've never looked at it as a job. It's just what I love to do," she said. "I just feel fortunate that I have these amazing fans who've supported me for so many years, and there's so much love that I feel I always want to be giving the love back to them." She views her career as an incredible blessing.
The JLo Show runs at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace from March 6 to 28. The single Save Me Tonight is out on Friday, coinciding with the residency restart, and Lopez will live-stream the performance from Las Vegas at approximately 8:30 PM PT across social media platforms.
