Former Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has appealed for help after her car was stolen from her driveway in Brentwood, Essex, in the early hours of Sunday. The black Land Rover, registration JJ73SSY, contained essential medical equipment for her 11-month-old twins, who have spinal muscular atrophy type 1 (SMA1).
Nelson has offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the vehicle’s return. In an Instagram story, she wrote: “My car got stolen off my driveway… I have so much of my girls’ hospital equipment in that car that’s really needed.” She urged anyone with information to contact her or the police.
Her twins, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, were born prematurely in May 2025 and later diagnosed with SMA1, a severe genetic disorder causing progressive muscle weakness. Nelson previously shared that the condition means they may never walk, and without treatment, they would not survive.
Nelson has become an advocate for SMA awareness. According to the NHS, about 70 children are born with SMA in the UK each year, and without treatment fewer than 8% survive to the age of two.
