Jesy Nelson Reflects on Relationship and Parenting in Candid Documentary

In the upcoming Prime Video documentary series Jesy Nelson: Life After Little Mix, the singer offers a raw and honest look at her relationship with former fiancé Zion Foster, which ultimately ended months after filming. The series, set to premiere on February 13, captures intimate moments from early 2025 when Nelson was pregnant with their twin daughters, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster.

Chalk and Cheese Dynamic Revealed

Nelson, 34, describes her dynamic with Foster, 26, as "like chalk and cheese" in the opening episode. She elaborates on their contrasting personalities, noting that Foster is "very Zen and chilled", often meditating and journaling, while she sees herself as "the erratic nutter". Despite these differences, she initially believed their relationship worked well, stating, "But for some reason, it absolutely works."

Concerns About Young Parenthood

One of Nelson's primary worries centered on Foster's age when she discovered she was pregnant. She recalls thinking, "Oh, f***, because you are still really young", and expresses that "25 is a young age to have kids, especially two." However, Foster responded positively to the pregnancy news, calling it "the best news", though he admitted shock upon learning they were expecting twins. He acknowledged the challenges ahead, saying, "Twins, it's not an easy road. It's not the same as having one baby. But I'm ready."

Relationship Breakdown and Co-Parenting Focus

Despite the hopeful footage, the couple announced their split last month, after being engaged in 2025. Nelson explains the decision to the Daily Mail, citing the traumatic experience of their daughters' health struggles. She says, "We have been through such a traumatic experience and for us, our girls are our main priority and our main focus." The energy between them wasn't right, but they remain friends and committed to co-parenting. Nelson emphasizes, "We are still united in co-parenting our daughters, they are our main focus, that's all we can do, be the best possible parents we can right now."

Health Challenges with Twin Daughters

The twins faced significant health issues, developing twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome in the womb and later being diagnosed with SMA Type 1, a rare condition causing muscle wastage, at around six months old. During pregnancy complications, Nelson poignantly told cameras, "I can't imagine not having these babies. It just progressively keeps getting worse... they're my children now, and I felt them kick. They're proper formed little humans." Born in May last year, the girls have become the central focus for both parents.

Personal Transformation and New Purpose

Nelson also shares how her perspective on motherhood evolved. She admits, "Before I got pregnant, I was lost. I felt really lost. I felt like I didn't have a purpose." After leaving Little Mix, she felt happier, and meeting Foster brought positive changes, though she acknowledges he "has been through so much s*** with me." Now, she views having babies as "the best thing that ever happened to me," despite previously insisting she didn't want children.

The documentary series promises to delve deeper into these personal journeys, offering fans an unfiltered look at Nelson's life post-Little Mix. With six episodes, it explores not only her relationship with Foster but also her growth as a mother and individual amidst adversity.
