Jesy Nelson has travelled to Paris with her boyfriend, Ben Davies, after reportedly withdrawing from the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity. The former Little Mix singer was due to fly to Australia in the coming weeks to take part in the ITV show, which is set to return to screens next month.
However, weeks before filming, Jesy, 35, decided to pull out to focus on her twin daughters, who were born with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). The singer has been making the most of her free time, trading the Bushtucker Trials for the French capital.
Romantic getaway in Paris
Jesy was pictured with the landscape gardener as they posed for a selfie together on their romantic trip. Another image showed the couple relaxing in the back of a chauffeur-driven van as they explored the city.
The couple publicly announced their relationship last month, when Jesy shared their first picture together on Instagram before heading to the National Television Awards. "Forgot to mention," she wrote alongside a photo of the pair at their London hotel.
Reason for pulling out
Jesy had become a significant signing for I'm A Celeb, but she has chosen to stay at home with her twin daughters, Ocean and Story, who are unlikely to ever walk. A source said: "Jesy was so excited about joining I'm A Celebrity, mainly because it was giving her a platform to continue her campaigning for SMA. She has already helped change Government policy over testing newborns for the condition.
"I'm A Celeb was going to be where she could spread her message even further, and show a side to her the public may not have seen before. It's with a very heavy heart that she has pulled out."
Future with the show
The source added that ITV bosses will always consider Jesy for the line-up, noting that Story and Ocean remain unwell and Jesy's family will always be her priority. "ITV have been amazing and is supporting her all the way; the door will always be open for Jesy," the source said.
In September, bosses were said to be hopeful that Jesy would sign her contract within weeks and were "thrilled" to have got that far, though the singer reportedly told bosses last month that she could not commit to the series. Other names rumoured to be joining the show include Wayne Rooney, ex-Strictly star Nadiya Bychkova, Ricky Wilson and cricket star Ben Stokes.
