Jesy Nelson Shuts Down TOWIE Casting Rumours: 'First I'm Hearing'
Jesy Nelson Denies TOWIE Casting Rumours

Jesy Nelson has dismissed speculation that she is set to join the cast of ITV's The Only Way Is Essex (TOWIE), calling the rumours unfounded. The former Little Mix star, 35, took to Instagram to clarify her position hours after reports emerged suggesting she was in advanced talks to appear on the reality programme.

Denial on Social Media

Posting on Instagram, Nelson stated: "Well this is the first I'm hearing of this." She added: "I can confirm I am defo not joining the cast of Towie. I just like to watch it." The singer's response came after a source reportedly told The Sun that she was in "advanced talks" to join the show, with a well-placed insider claiming: "It's a total natural fit. Jesy is from Essex and knows a lot of the cast anyway so it's not going to feel forced. She's been talking a lot to Lauren and Amy Childs in particular so it's likely she'll be a part of their glam mums group."

Current TV Projects

Nelson, who grew up in Romford, Essex, recently allowed cameras to document her life for an exclusive Prime Video docuseries titled Life After Little Mix. She also has a new documentary, Jesy Nelson: Life Changing, premiering on July 17. The film follows her journey as a mother to twin daughters Ocean Jade and Story Monroe Nelson-Foster, who were diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA Type 1), a rare condition causing progressive muscle weakness.

An official synopsis for the documentary reads: "This raw and powerful documentary follows Jesy as she comes to terms with what the diagnosis means for her girls, adapts to the everyday challenges of their conditions, and finds her footing as a single mother after the break up of her relationship. But this is far more than a personal story." It continues: "Jesy channels her experience into a campaign to change how the UK screens newborns for the disease. It's a portrait of motherhood, resilience and the fierce determination that comes from knowing that a simple change in the system can save lives."

Life in Cornwall

Fans had questioned how Nelson would fit into TOWIE given her relocation to Cornwall to provide a quieter upbringing for her daughters. The singer has been open about the challenges of raising twins with SMA, and the upcoming documentary aims to raise awareness about newborn screening for the condition.
